Another lovely Sunday afternoon was spent introducing the new Baaliyan by Katy collections this weekend at the Arts & Crafts Bazaar at the New Division Bar in Nicosia. People from all over the capital of this bustling City visited this wonderful event to indulge in handmade goods and mingle with the crowds. There was a touch of excitement in the air as the small crowd that visited us prepared for the Palaia Pineza Festival later on that afternoon a little further down from where we were located.
A lovely surprise was also due upon arrival when I was greeted by familiar faces at the stalls :)
Teddy Dako, owner at Urban Grafics and Charalambos Kouloumis, freelance photographer, were both positioned just a little further down from my stall. Fortunately they were still close enough for a friendly catch up during quiet periods. I completely and utterly fell in love with their canvas photographs, especially the sunset scenes. If you are looking for new art work for your living room or any other room in the house, this should be your first point of call.
As well as familiar faces, there were also some new friends to be made.
Markos Demetriou, owner of Marko's Artshop, was positioned (in the shade) next to my stall with his incredible, unique artwork. Art for me is an interesting field of thought as it is always up to the interpretation of the person viewing your work. Marko however provided an insight to his magical world by describing how everyone has their own place in the world, their own space where they can withdraw and escape from the bustling chaos around them. His creative insight will soon be incorporated into a small project I am working on with a herbal remedy. Stay tuned for future announcements on this.
Christina Kyprianidou, owner of Sketchbook ideas, held a stall full of treasures opposite mine with some extremely unique and interesting creations. There was something about Christina's artwork which drew me in and I just simply couldn't resist. I'm pleased to say that Christina is now also working on an upcoming project with me which will be announced in the coming months.
Overall, the Arts & Crafts Bazaar at the New Division Bar in Nicosia proved to be a very successful event for Baaliyan by Katy. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the organizer, From: Head, To: Toe for all her help and for providing the opportunity for us to reach out to a new crowd of wonderful people and meet up with new and old friends.
